You are most likely here, because you read The 4-Hour Body or saw my interview on ABC Nightline or World News. I first met Tim through a mutual friend and there was an immediate connection. He had words do describe how I had always lived: Life Hacking. Ray Cronise is a former NASA scientist and a passionate innovator As a scientist, how things worked always seemed to be a top priority. For me, it was the struggle with my weight for over two decades that was one of my most difficult scientific problems to solve.

This site is about more than just the thermal-loading – it’s about change, innovation, and challenging the status quo. I’ve spent my entire life dedicated to unraveling what seems on the surface obvious in search of a nugget of new truth buried deep inside.

I am confident that you will see extraordinary results if you apply some of the principles in this blog. Yes, you still have to manage what you eat and exercise for cardiovascular fitness, but I was able to get a 300% boost in results with simple adjustments in every day life.  I know  you can too. More importantly, I want to give you the confidence that you CAN make a difference and that you don’t need to be a “rocket scientist” to figure this out.  If you apply simple experimental principles, your daily observations will become lifetime habits.

I didn’t study diet and exercise in school, I studied chemistry, biochemistry, and physics. My passion has been focused on opening up space exploration for everyone – experiencing weightless was a bigger priority than weight loss for most of my life.  I learned about getting and being FAT from actually doing it.  Even though I had the basic scientific understanding to avoid weight gain, I fell into the same trap as you.  After over a decade of going up and down, with the net average always UP, I had to finally make a permanent change. For me, it always seemed to be that 12 week wall – short of my goal, but tired of the restriction – that made me fail.

My real breakthrough came from sitting down with a spreadsheet and a blank notebook page. In the end, Newton wasn’t wrong and I discovered that diet and exercise isn’t the complete story, it might not even be half. I am still learning every day and will frequently update everyone on this blog.

Thanks for dropping by and I’d like to hear your results – positive or negative – so that we can continue to expand our understanding of this challenge we all face every day.

Good Luck!

Ray

  7. […] It’s not just the calories you eat vs. the calories you burn, that’s only one part of a complex metabolic equation. And anyways, this long-held belief doesn’t match up with Newton’s laws of thermodynamics so let’s put the debate behind us and agree that there is more to the story. […]
